I made this but I used homemade noodles. O have also made cabbage and noodles and started by frying about 6 strips of thick sliced bacon, removing it, then sauteing the onion and cabbage in the bacon grease. Then when all of the cabbage is starting to carmelize, crumble the bacon into the cabbage / onion mixture. In this instance you can use it as a main dish. With some crusty bread on the side. Cabbage and noodles is Hungarian soul food at best!
