This simple sandwich is perfect for the summer. You only need 8 ingredients and 30 minutes to bring it all together. Cooking the sausages on the grill means you don't have to stand in a hot kitchen over the stove in the stiffling summer heat. The sausages are topped with barbecue sauce and mozzarella cheese then served on a bun with mustard, lettuce, tomato, and pickle for a perfect summer bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 sausages
  • 4 tablespoons barbeque sauce
  • 2 slices mozzarella (or other melting cheese)
  • lettuce
  • tomato (sliced)
  • pickles
  • prepared mustard
  • 2 rolls (bread)

    Directions

    1. Cut the rolls in half and heat.
    2. Slice the sausages in half horizontally and prick with a fork. Fry in a pan and blot to remove excess grease.
    3. Spread each roll with 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce. Place the sausage in the sandwich and drizzle with barbeque sauce. Place the cheese on top and broil until melted.
    4. Spread with mustard and layer with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. Tope with the other half of the roll and serve.
