- 800 grams chicken (boneless and skinless, cut into 3-4cm pieces)
- 2 garlic cloves (peeled and finely crushed)
- 2 cms ginger (peeled and finely grated)
- 1/2 tsp. fine sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. hot chilli powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 75 mL natural yoghurt
- 1/2 tsp. Garam Masala (mixed Indian spices)
- 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil (for brushing)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. ghee (or melted, unsalted butter)

- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 tsp. garam masala (mixed Indian spices)

- 275 mL tomato pure
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 40 grams unsalted butter
- 100 mL double cream
- 1 Tbsp. chopped coriander (to garnish, optional)

I have made it 3 times keeping the same spice but less chicken creme fresh as an alternative. Even bbq the chicken then added to the sauce

It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever eaten but I’d never make it again! Received quite the shock when it says 50mins when in fact you’re marinating chicken for 4 hours!

Great recipe. Very tasty. Next time though I think I’ll use less lemon juice.

I didn’t bake the chicken just cooked it slowly in a separate pan and added the sauce. It was yummy

I liked the recipe, my wife hated it?? She felt it wasn’t ‘Indian’ enough, and I think she’s right. We’ve had much better butter chicken using other Indian type recipes.
I don’t think the hot chili powder made it hot at all. Not a winner, but not awful.

Delicious. We really enjoyed this. It is slightly complicated and the list of ingredients would have served better had they been separated for the marinade and the sauce, but the result was very good. Thank you.

This has been a staple curry on our menu, probably make it at least one every few weeks. Great taste.

I may have over cooked my chicken which made it a little dry. However the flavor was on point! I would recommend adding more of a heat kick. Would make again

Taste / flavour was exactly as expected but the texture was not creamy otherwise would have got five stars
