- 1 1/3 cups milk (warm, I use 2 % fat)
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter (or vegetable oil)
- 1 egg (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. instant dry yeast (if using active dry yeast, be sure to activate in warm milk)
- 4 cups all purpose flour (to make soft not sticky dough)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 6 Tbsp. hot water (may need more)
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
