- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 cups fruit (assorted, rhubarb, strawberries, peaches, plums, nectarines, blackberries etc. I used a peach, a nectarine and a scattering of blackberries in my version)
- 1/2 cup sugar (depending on the tartness of the fruit; rhubarb, for example, would need a greater amount of sugar)
