- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 Tbsp. prepared horseradish
- 1 Tbsp. ketchup (plus more if needed)
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic (finely)
- 2 Tbsp. capers (chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. pickle relish
- 2 Tbsp. diced celery (finely)
- 2 Tbsp. flat-leaf parsley (finely chopped)
- 1 Tbsp. onion tops (finely diced green)
- ground black pepper

- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 dash hot sauce
- 2 cups yellow cornmeal
