  • 6 bone in skin on chicken thighs (about 2 1/2 pounds)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. juice (from 1 lemon)
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (about 7 1/2 ounces)
  • 1 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter (3 ounces, softened)
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 30 dill (or bread-and-butter pickle chips)
  • 2 tsp. lemon zest (finely grated)
