Loved this for a side with fall brunch, it is a bit sweet but has a noticeable butter flavor so goes well with savory stuff.
I cut the recipe in half and used a local, apple that's good for pies and left the skins on. I don't mind cooked apple with skin, but they separate a bit during cooking so if you mind that then peel them.
About 20 minutes, did need to add 1 TBSP more water when cooking because the glaze got quite thick. Stirred about every minute and cooked on 75% heat. My 1/2 recipe made two generations side portions.
