Description

There are many tales of just how the margarita was invented. One is that it was made for silver-screen beauty Rita Hayworth, whose full name was Margarita. A classic margarita is made with tequila, Triple Sec, and lime juice with a salted rim. Concoct it with fresh orange and lime juice, and sake, with the occasional splash of tequila.

    Directions

    1. If you prefer a salted rim: Place enough salt on a small plate to coat the rim of a tumbler glass. Use the wedge of lime to moisten the rim of the tumbler and press the rim into the salt. Repeat with the second glass.
    2. Fill each tumbler with ice.
    3. In a large pitcher, stir together the orange and lime juices, agave (if desired), sake, and tequila (if desired). Distribute evenly between the glasses and serve immediately.
