These days I try to stay off excess carbs I do not need to eat. It is impossible for me to cut them out all together and it would not even be healthy for me but I have hound out that a higher protein diet is helping me in the times when it is time to loose some weight. Unfortunately the time is right now. This meal is very filling and the peas add wonderful tastes and all goes just lovely together. So, hey, ho, let’s go cooking! You will need:


  • fillet steak (per person)
  • black pepper
  • white pepper
  • sea salt
  • oil (any what takes high heat)
  • butter (optional)
  • peas (Mange tout, flat snap peas)
  • pancetta
  • 1 large garlic clove (medium/)
  • chilli (if you like it – optional)

    1. Season your steak from both sides with sea salt, black pepper and white pepper. On a medium heat pan add 1 tablespoon of oil and fry from both sides until done your way (blue, rare, medium, well done). For extra yummy taste you can also fry the steak with added butter (optional). If so add in the second half of frying your steak. Set aside and leave your steak to rest.
    2. In the same pan with the left over oil start to fry your pancetta until the fat start to dissolve. Add your garlic, chilli (if you want) and stir for a minute. Afterwards add your mange tout and toss around. You do not want to overcook your peas to loose the lovely colour and crunch.
    3. Now serve your steak as you fancy, with some extra vegetables on the side. Goes very well with any potato dish. But not for me this time, weeks…. Enjoy.
