Might not have cut very small piece, but didn’t notice. Sautéed fennel pieces in olive oil then simmered in vegetable broth. No liquor, used a drop of anise extract. Split cream between heavy whipping cream and whole milk. Used individual ramekins, finely shredded cheese on top. Took longer to cook. Topped with chives before serving. Delectable.
