Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Drain the garbanzo beans in a fine-mesh sieve and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Turn garbanzo beans onto a clean dishcloth, and pat dry with paper towels.

Transfer the garbanzo beans to the prepared baking sheet. Spray with an even layer of nonstick cooking spray, and sprinkle with the salt and black pepper.

Roast the garbanzo beans on middle rack of oven, shaking baking sheet twice during cook time, until golden brown and crisp, 35-40 minutes.

Check to see that garbanzo beans are done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
