I followed the recipe with one exception and the dish turned out great. It had a lot of flavor and perhaps just a bit more spicy heat that can be decreased the next time. I added at least double the chicken broth and let it thicken as I simmered the mixture for 1-1/2 hrs. The round steak needed the extra time to become tender. I also added a tablespoon of corn starch mixed with some of the chicken broth to thicken the mixture. This is a keeper recipe.

Not bad! I had much less meat which was ok, I just adjusted the ingredients and didn’t cook it as long. Lots of spices, but not a lot of flavor.

Excellent! My husband loved it. I severed it over rice which was perfect and we had applesauce (recommend-this is very spicy) we will have this again!

It was very flavorful. It was a bit spicy for my children but perfect for my husband and I.

This was delicious! My Mom used to make smothered steak with a ketchup base; so for nostalgia I added a little ketchup which added a little body and sweetness. I also added one sliced jalapeño for extra bite!

This was my second time to make this yummy dish! So much wonderful flavor! I used 1/2 the salt called for; and, also half the onions (and there were still plenty)! I think next time I will simmer the round steak a little longer to make it more tender.
