Loved the idea of this recipe but made a few changes. I prefer to start with a roux so used 1:1 butter with the flour and cooked that out first, added the stock, ground pepper, then heavy cream and adjusted the consistency with a little whole milk. As it was fairly salty I didn't add the soy sauce but did add a generous teaspoon of dijon mustard and a couple of cloves worth of minced garlic. Then cut back the richness of the cream with a dash of lime juice. Delicious and loved by all the family.

Thank you for the basics.. I altered the mix as usual... Frankly?? Reduce the soy, use Himalayan instead with a pinch of soy for flavor.. add a bit of Worcestershire sauce ( Lee & Perrins Preferred) be more generous with the rosemary, add a pinch of Tarragon for sweetness and a little bit of fresh cracked white pepper... Half & Half is also permissible for less calories. The flour is used for thickener, so add part of it at first and then powder in a tiny bit at a time with a small sieve until it is the right thickness as you render the sauce.. A pinch of white wine would also not be remiss.. Perhaps a bit of Pinot Gorgio or something similar.. I also like to cook my meatballs in the sauce so they absorb the flavor properly... It turned out fabulously.... The base recipe is simple, and sound.. but like all recipes.. It needs a bit of tweaking and the personal touch.. Enjoy... I sure did.

For something so simple this sauce is great. A hit with ALL of the kids, and that hardly ever happens. Is a regular now.

Fantastic! I made six servings of this sauce with frozen meatballs for my family. Even my picky 2 year old finished her food. I used parsley instead of rosemary and it still came out great. Its the perfect thickness and flavor. I will make this again.
