- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil (canola, sunflower etc.)

- 1 Orange (large, you'll need the juice and zest)
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large garlic cloves
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp water)

- green onions (chopped)

Very good! My family loved it! They seemed very crispy when pulling them out of the hot oil, but softened up when I put them in the orange sauce. My family said they would prefer it to be crunchier, so maybe I’ll leave the chicken frying longer next time. I didn’t have a thermometer so I just cooked it on level 6 on the stove until it started spitting oil, then I turned it down to 5. I doubled the recipe for my family of 5 and served with jasmine rice.

The chicken was amazing but the sauce was very strong, very orange flavor, too much for the kids and quite overpowering, would have toned down the orange zest
