Needs more salt but very tender and shreddable with good flavor. Next time will kick up flavors a bit.

I am very pleased about this recipe, it really has an amazing taste. At first I was afraid it will turn ugly since I don’t have experience in cooking beef and more over for such large periods of time but in the end it turn in a master piece. If you are some one that did not like spice food (like me) I would recommend not use all the spices in the recipe it will turn really hot :).
I got lots of appreciations from all of my family members that bost my self up.
Before start cooking this recipe prepare your self you lots of patience since it takes 8 hours to got the real taste. You don’t necessarily need to be around the meal all this time but you have to do checks from time to time.
I recommend it for any one who has time and wants to prepare let a greate cooking impresions.
Have fun, and patience.

Not as good as I thought it would be. I didn’t find Sierra Mist so I got 7-up, and as other reviewers have stated, it made the broth much too sweet. I doubled and then tripled all the spices... still rather bland. I won’t be making this again.

Turned out really good. Put it on high after the second hour, cooked it for about 9.5 hrs., added more seasoning also.

I found this very bland! I had to add a whole heap of chilli and paprika to have any flavour at all.. Wouldn’t use this recipe again

It’s good it has to tweaked a bit. I doubled everything, except the meat, this time. Hopefully it’s more flavorful.

Bland, had to spruce up big time with other seasonings and double and triple the amounts shown. If I were to do this again-
season with cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper
sear both sides on cast iron and put it in the oven at 450 for 8 to 10 and then pull it apart in some red pepper lime marinade and add tomitillo salsa .

Don't bother...had to shred and put in a skillet and simmer with diced tomatoes and seasonings to make it close to flavorful.

My beef was frozen so we put it in the night before following the recipe but adding a whole can of sprite. When we woke up there wasn’t a lot of flavor. We added 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp tajin, 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1/2 cup lime juice and another tsp chili powder. Then let it cook all day. I did add a bit of water so it wouldn’t dry out. It was great and had a little kick to it! I gave it three stars because we had to add so much to it. If I wasn’t using it for burritos it would have been fine the way it was.

I tried this with extra seasoning since it just didn't seem to be enough spices for three pounds of beef. Mine came out bland and dry.

Nice flavor. Combined with rotel and black beans and ate nacho style with some chipolte gouda.

Turned out as instructed, Don’t be concerned surplus liquids left over as doesn’t all get absorbed 👍

We really liked it. We didn’t add enough lime at the end, will kick it up a notch next time. Used the meat for tacos and everyone (even my picky kids) ate it up!

Bland, tasted more sweet. Tried adding salt after it was shredded. Weird tasting, nothing Mexican in it
