It wasn't bad but it needs improvement. It was salty but not overly salty. I would say to do 1/3 cup of soy sauce definitely reduced sodium and I would add more hoisin sauce. I would do 1/3 cup instead of 3 tbls. I did gound ginger and crushed garlic in the sauce instead of browning it with the beef because burnt garlic doesn't taste good and I don't normally have fresh ginger because we never use it fast enough for me to buy it. Anyway...I also reduced the amount of corn starch to half because I thought 2 tbls sounded like an awful lot.

It was VERY salty and I even used low sodium soy sauce. It looked appetizing.
