- 2 Tbsp. ghee (or oil ~ Divided; buy or make)
- 2 cups onions (~ Mince finely)
- 1 Tbsp. ginger garlic paste (~ Buy or make)
- 14.5 oz. tomato puree (1 can)
- 4 tomatoes
- 1/4 tsp. red chili (Kashmiri ground, Or 1/4 cayenne pepper, substitutions; more to your taste)
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp. kasoori methi (~, Dried fenugreek leaves, optional)
- 4 tsp. lemon juice (~ I usually add one more teaspoon at the end)
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. plain yogurt (~ Optional)
- 2 Tbsp. cilantro (~ Chopped)

I doubled the recipe because we LOVE butter chicken from our local Indian restaurant. My kids said it was as good as the restaurant’s recipe!!!
