I am a pastry Chef and can bake with the best of them, but sometimes you need a quick “down and dirty” recipe for an occasion. I have made this cake twice and both times my hubby could not stop eating it. Friends and family will forgo fancier deserts for this cake. It is the bomb!! I used a devils food cake mix the second time and it is amazing, seriously.

I followed the directions but didn't get the "seismic shift" like it was supposed to. My cream cheese layer stayed on top and the bottom of pecans and coconut was dry. Still tasted great but not the presentation I was hoping for.
