Didn’t read ahead to know I should split crumb and have a bottom crumb layer. I put all the crumb on top since that’s what I was after. A lot of crumb. It was a little to crunchy that way but it disappeared anyway 😉

My favorite part of “Brown Betty” dishes has always been the oatmeal topping, and I was pleased with the amount in this dish. My husband and grown daughter both raved about the Double Crumb Apple Crisp, which I made according to the directions — no additions or substitutions.
