- 1/2 onion (– 1 large, peeled and chopped)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups water
- 2 cloves garlic (fresh, minced)
- 1/2 tsp. cumin (leave this out if you want them to be more plain)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. salt (do not add until last hour of cooking)
