This was a darn good base recipe.
I tweaked it by adding an extra 2 cups broth and a can of rinsed black beans. I didn't have barley in the pantry so I substituted bulger.
My family really enjoyed this soup!

I’d add a bit more broth next time; otherwise everything about it was fantastic

Very good soup. We ended up cooking it on the stovetop as we did not have time to wait for the slow cooker. Next time I will add a little bit more broth.
