like all the rest of the comments i too had problems with the cheese melting. i used block sharp cheddar, freshly shredded, added it very slowly and still it turned into a big gloppy mess. i turned my crock pot to high thinking yep there goes tonight's dinner.... but to my surprise when i went to stur it 2 hours later the cheese melted and its began to thicken up. i didn't want to puree it, i like me some veggies lol. as i sat and pondered what could I have done to have made this dinner been served on time.... 💡 definitely would have cooked on high instead of low also would have added cheese, cream, and corn starch at hour 4 so it would have plenty of time to thicken. alright kids i have said my peice and now i must go on to my next food venture peace out and happy eating

I added 1/2 lb diced ham, 5 diced red potatoes and 1 tsp curry powder. It was amazing!!! I also cooked it for 9 hours. I would definitely make it again but maybe with 1/2 cup of cheese less
