- 6 cups beef broth (or stock)
- 2 inches ginger (chunk of, peeled and dropped into the pot)
- 3/4 tsp. anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 sliced green onions
- 1 lb. beef (thin sliced, I used stir-fry meat from the butcher)
- 1 pkg. rice noodles (usually in the ethnic aisle in the grocery store)
- 1 tsp. fish sauce (anchovies, salt, water. ethnic aisle again. it smells horrible.)
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
