- 4 Tbsp. all purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken stock (reduced-salt)
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 6 carrots (4- ,peeled and cut into 1/8” slices)
- 2 celery stalks (cut into 1/8” slices)
- 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 3 cups chicken broth (reduced-salt)
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (dry or semi-, ; a good drinking wine)
- 3 1/2 cups cream (milk, or half and half, or a mixture of cream and skim milk)
- 2 Tbsp. chicken base (granules or chicken cubes)
- 1/2 tsp. freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. dried parsley (or 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley)
- 3 bay leaves (dried)
- 1 1/2 tsp. Herbs de Provence
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. paprika (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)
- 5 cups cooked chicken (4- ,cubed or shredded – rotisserie chicken works well, but do NOT use smoked chicken.)

Perfection! I cut the recipe in half and it was more than enough. I used mostly heavy cream but also combined 2% milk.

Delicious!, I added some bow tie pasta and some peas and extra broth /cream to make it even more comforting. Will definitely be making this one again!

I've made this twice and it's so delicious. I added corn both times and used a combo of heavy cream and 1% milk. It's definitely my favorite soup now.

I have made this like 4 times now. it is so delicious! I made the exact recipe except for the heavy cream and I used 2% milk instead and it was still delicious.

Really good flavor! Had to use 2% milk (no cream) but it was still delicious-just not as thick or fattening!😉

It was pretty good, but a little weird. I would add egg noodles, do less carrots and a little more celery, swap the half and half for milk, and take a lot of the oil out. Overall, the flavors were amazing! It was just a little hard on the stomach and pretty oily

This soup is very flavorful! I added red potatoes close to the end of the cooking time and it is delicious.

I really enjoy this soup. I've made it several times. I follow the recipe exactly, except that I add parsnips and this time I added some turnip. It really is a comforting soup.

It’s very “spicy” like a lot of herbs are added. Tastes alright. Did freeze well, but I wouldn’t make it again

I have made this soup at least 10 times and it is one of my all-time favorites. A staple in our home. I’ve shared it with my whole family and they regularly request it. Savory and perfectly delicious!!

Yum! Would make it again. I modified it a lot but the excellent dea of using the roux and then cream made it very comforting and delicious.

Very tasty. I opted to throw in some potatoes at the end for myself and my teens. My husband threw in some avocado instead! Very good.
