    The hens themselves were tasty: nothing amazing, but not bad either. The absolute worst part about this recipe is getting the birds smothered in the butter. no matter how much you pat dry the birds, the second the skin moves as your spreading the coating, the coating no longer spreads. this made the whole process upsettingly not fun. it took as much time to coat the birds as it took to cook them. i enjoy a good cooking challenge-this was just NOT fun.
