3rd time: Same smashing hit..
2nd time: Made this again - huge hit. Used the same ideas from the recipe below. Doubled the garlic, used 2 bottles of beer, sauteed the onions before adding them. At the last hour of cooking, I sauteed ribbons of cabbage in butter, then added... I beat out my British next door neighbor in the cook-off!
1st time:
According to my husband, this was the BEST corned beef and cabbage he has ever had... bought a 4 pound Waygu beef (CA) from Costco. I used the above recipe, but I used 2 IPA 12 oz beer bottles, and then all water/beef broth. I ALWAYS add more garlic... I also added 1/4 tsp of whole cloves, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp ground allspice. Keith wants this for every holiday. Lol
