Turns out surprisingly well, despite the fact I am not a fan of kale. I have adjusted the recipe since my first batch: I use lime juice (from an entire lime) in place of lemon juice, substitute cilantro for parsley (my broth is already heavy on parsley), add diced chicken breast (two of them) plus green and red bell pepper with the onions, and add mushrooms with the broth (dried poultry blends but I prefer shiitake when I can find it).
