- 1/4 cup warm water (110 to 115 degrees F)
- 1/2 cup low fat milk (warm, 110 to 115 degrees F, I warmed the water and milk together in a microwave)
- 16 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
- 4 large egg yolks (lightly beaten)
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 325 grams unbleached all purpose flour (plus more for rolling out the dough)
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 2 cups ground pecans (or other nuts. I used a mini food processor to grind the pecans.)
- 2 Tbsp. low fat milk
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

- sliced almonds
- powdered sugar
