I've made these at home for years, just using cinnamon. When you put an apple into the oven, the natural sugar comes out, thereby not necessitating additional sugar. The kids don't need the added sugar, and neither do we. You could use Stevia (natural sweetener) if you insist on having them sweeter.

I tried this with 1/4 slices so that requires more time obviously plus that may make them more chewier than people that are going for chips. I did like the taste though and adding any sugar or honey may be optional depending on the apples that you use. as fur myself I'll probably stick with the 1/4 slices as I do like the texture and it just takes more oven space to make actual 'chips' that won't be gone in a few minutes (or maybe that's just me) but to each their own. I hope that helps.

It was a very simple snack. It tasted really good, and I always wanted more while I was already in the middle of consuming one.

I couldn't stop eating these there was none left over for the next day! I didn't use any sugar and they turned out delicious!

I am not a lover of sweet things but I could not stop nibbling these until there weren't any left so now I have to make some more.

I make these quite often, but am not into sweets therefor I don't
use sugar only cinnamon. I use up apples that are left at the end of
the week. Sometimes I have some and sometimes I don't.
