  • 3 onions (medium, halved lengthwise, then cut lengthwise into 1/4-inch-thick slices)
  • 3/4 cup apple cider (unfiltered)
  • 1 apple (peeled, cored, halved and cut into 1/4-inch slices)
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries (or thawed, frozen cranberries)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1 pinch cinnamon (cloves, and nutmeg)
  • 1 pinch orange zest (fresh)
  • 1 pinch fresh thyme leaves (you could use rosemary, instead)
