- all purpose flour (2 cups, 280g plain)
- 2 tsp. vanilla sugar (see notes)
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup milk (see notes)
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup hot water (see notes)
- 2/3 cup butter
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 2/3 cup Nutella (or equivalent)
- 2 cups icing sugar
- buttermilk
- 2% milk
- vanilla sugar (I use, please see this helpful advice for converting to essence or extract.)
- 1 Tbsp. instant coffee (I would recommend adding it as it intensifies the chocolate flavour.)
