- 1/2 cup butter (It doesn’t have to be softened, but I break it into pieces. Raw, grass-fed butter is preferable, but store-bought pasteurized butter works just fine if you lack access to raw milk products. You can use 1 cup of coconut oil to make this recipe vegan and/or paleo friendly.)
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (You can use 1 cup of butter instead of butter and coconut oil, but the coconut oil makes it silkier)
- 1 cup cocoa powder (I’ve never tried it, but you could use carob powder if you are serious about not using chocolate.)
- 3/8 cup maple syrup (grade B)
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 tsp. canela
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (soaked)
