- 3/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder (sifted if lumpy, you could also use Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (or coconut oil, melted and cooled slightly, use coconut oil for a dairy-free version)
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar (raw sugar, or coconut sugar)
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 1/4 cups sweet cherries (pitted, quartered)
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (use dairy-free chocolate chips, if necessary)
