This was sooo good!! I did a little adjusting with the flavoring, just some more herbs and chicken stock, but I’d also make sure to not make your dumplings too big, they do expand. I also got to make some drop biscuits with the leftover dumplings 😊

This made a perfect, comforting chicken and dumplings. It did take a fair amount of time and effort but worth it.
1I did make slightly smaller dumplings (~20) which i prefer and I feel that they cooked well!
- i also started with a whole chicken quartered with wings removed instead of breasts or thighs only. 3.4 Lb chicken before prepping.

It was delicious! I made my dumplings small and they were perfect. I used a mixture of heavy whipping cream and milk with a splash of vinegar because my buttermilk went bad. The broth was thick and yummy! Definitely a favorite in our house.

When preparing the chicken and dumplings I put all the veggies including mushrooms, onions, carrots, cabbage, garlic and bay leaf into 6 cups of water. Added Knorr Granulated chicken flavored bouillon (very flavorful!) Then prepared the dumplings… haven’t eaten it yet, still cooking! But the flavor I get with the granules of bouillon is amazing. Also added poultry seasoning and sage. I noticed when I tried to stir in the dumplings they were trying to fall apart so I immediately let them cook through…. So we will see.

Really good!! Used chicken bouillon and Bisquick for the dumplings. Took longer than I thought it would but was well worth it!

So delicious and cozy. perfect for a stormy night inside. I loved this recipe and so did my family. Will be making again. I did add more seasoning though & some paprika for spice.

This turned out really well! The hubby and I loved it and was a great end to a rainy, cold day. I (and I think everyone should to an extent) tweaked the recipe a bit to my preferences and ingredient availability. I bought a whole chicken that I cut in pieces and seared off (and later deboned and shredded). I added about a teaspoon of smoked paprika, some red pepper flakes (my hubby and I love heat), about two teaspoons of chicken base for extra chicken-ey flavor, 8oz of sliced cremini mushrooms, doubled the garlic and black pepper, and I had to sub half & half for the buttermilk in the dumplings. All in all, it was fantastic!!

Dank AF!! I also added a couple chicken bouillon cubes. I didn’t have celery so I used peas instead. I had to mix the dumpling batter with my hands because it was thick. I rolled the dumplings too before dropping them in. I looove this recipe! Will be making it again. Thanks for sharing!

Turned out great. I had to substitute sour cream and whole milk for the buttermilk. It takes me a while, about an hour and 45 minutes, but I never really feel bad about using the time when I get to eat it.

Absolutely delicious!! I did add some better than bouillon to the water just to give it more of that flavor. Thanks for sharing! It was a hit!

The soup was good (needs more seasoning in my opinion but that’s easy), but the dumplings were very mediocre and tasted overpoweringly of buttermilk (I like buttermilk, so that says a lot). Pretty enjoyable though, just ate around the dumplings

Delicious..My dumplings came out a bit too big and took a while to cook. Next time I will make smaller. I also used 8 cups of chicken stock and two cups of water. Will look up next time how to make dumplings fluffier as they were a little dense maybe I over mixed still tasty

Broth turns out nice and flavorful and slightly thickened, prefect for a chilly afternoon.

i used rotisserie chicken and chicken broth instead of uncooked whole bird to cut down on the time. I utilize the skin of the bird and put it in a cheesecloth with bay leaves to easily remove before thicken the broth. The flour to liquid ratio would be better to half or quarter the ratio. The dumplings; the flour I use was self-raising flour and got the same result if i used all purpose flour with leavenings.
