- 1 Tbsp. salt (fine sea, salt, if not using Kosher salt OR sensitive to salt, reduce to personal preference)
- 3/4 cup plain yogurt (whole milk, don't use Greek)
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts (OR thighs)
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 small yellow onion (finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup tomato paste (good quality)
- 1/4 tsp. ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- 28 oz. crushed tomatoes (good quality fire roasted)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (plus sprigs for garnish)

Absolutely delicious but next time I will add 1 Tablespoon of sugar because it was a bit sour.

Was a very nice recipe. You will have to adjust the spices, so you can get the flavor you seek. Especially if you enjoy it hotter. But other than that, a keeper!!!

I love this recipe & make it all the time. Sometimes I like to do the Whole 30 diet & I substitute the yogurt & heavy cream for coconut yogurt and it still turns out amazing!

I split up the recipe and did half with chicken and half with sweet potatoes
