  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 8 ounces button mushrooms (or pre-sliced bella)
  • 3 tablespoons shallots (finely chopped, from 1 medium shallot)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup marsala wine
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Italian parsley (chopped fresh, for serving, optional)

    This was so delicious! We loved it. Make sure to take the time and really let the sauce cook. I let it reduce down for 15 minutes. I used a pound of mushrooms and might consider doubling the sauce next time as it was so tasty. I cooked the chicken probably about double the time to get it browned. I used a stainless steel pan and that helped with the browning and deglazing. My husband who isn’t usually fond of Marsala loved this. We will definitely repeat this one!

    Delish and now a family favorite! I recommend doubling the sauce and serving with a wide noodle (pappardelle noodles are perfect!).

    It was delicious! The chicken was tender and juicy. The flavors in the sauce blended nicely not one overwhelmed the other. The mushrooms were juicy and flavorful.

    I replaced the following: Shallots- onions finely chopped Marsala- dry red wine Heavy cream- fat free milk Added a smidge of corn starch to help thicken This is just what I had on hand since I can’t leave my house with COVID-19 orders to stay home.
