i don’t have a “baker’s instinct” or anything like that, but i used like a cup of sugar bc that’s what i saw in the comments. the actual recipe wasn’t my problem, i baked it and i probably started cutting too early bc the middle was raw. so i mushed it all up and put it back in for 10 minutes. super good but i think i ate it raw. it also took me like an hour and a half to make in total. i think i’m just inadequate🤷♀️

Admittedly I have to confess that I significantly altered this recipe but it came out fantastic. As a baker it was easy for me to see that some of the amounts needed to be changed so as not to be too sweet. I only used 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup coconut and 1 tsp of vanilla. I substituted coconut oil for the butter 1 to 1 ratio and when it was done baking I topped the bars with chocolate and toasted coconut! They were ridiculously delicious and I will definitely making them again!

My baker's instinct told me 2 cups of sugar would be too much. So I only used 1 cup. It came out great!

These bars are fabulous! If you like rich, chewy and full of coconut flavor then these are for you. I like them best out of the fridge.
