Great! Definitely add the seasoning! And I cheated with Mac and cheese sauce powder also with the real cheese! Thanks for the recipe when I have a craving!!

Good. I also added finely chopped celery, large onion, garlic cloves, and grated carrots to the meat. oregano and mustard to the sauce.

Great recipe - added red bell pepper, sautéed half an union, frozen mixed vegetables and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Used 96% lean ground sirloin
Very tasty

Family Fave! Will definitely add to the rotation. Added minced onion and A1 sauce. Doubled the hamburger and used rotini

I put flour instead of cornstarch like reviews said. Also added extra seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and dry mustard in meat while cooking. Instead of water used beef broth and it came out just like hamburger helper. I was impressed at how good it was. Def will be making again.

Solid base recipe to whisper in those childhood memories of the talking puffy glove dinners. I used my own pasture raised ground beef (80/20 chuck) as I needed to make room for the next one. As I was sautéing the onion as recommended my wife came in with the evening milking of our Nigerian Dwarf goat milk, so I grabbed two cups of that still hot.
If you don’t have your own cows and pasture with fresh goat milk, then maybe wait until you do. However, in a pinch you can go with the store stuff .

This dish was a total hit, and my family has notoriously picky eaters! Taking advice from some other reviews, I made a few changes to amp up flavor, such as using chopped onions and garlic instead of powder, and cooking the spices with the meat (2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tbsp ground pepper, 1 tbsp of ground mustard, 1.5 tbsp worcerstershire sauce).
I used beef broth instead of water, and mixed in 1 tbsp flour (instead of cornstarch) before adding to the pot so as to avoid clumping. In addition to 1 cup sharp shredded cheddar, I added 1 cup velveeta to increase the cheesy goodness. Since there was all that cheese, I didn’t use any salt (a cheat to reducing sodium intake), and I avoided using sugar completely.
Served it up with an avocado and tomato salad, and I have to say, this turned out so much better than I expected. I doubt I can ever go back to that boxed, powder flavoring hamburger helper ever again.

Really good although I think I’ll try flour instead of corn starch next time to smooth out the consistency. Also probably won’t use sugar but was impressed with simplicity and taste! Kids liked it too 😁

Easy, filling, and tastes great. I added a bit of Worcestershire, steak sauce, ketchup, and mustard to make it taste more like a cheeseburger.

I really enjoyed this one. Used onion and garlic instead of powdered of each and added Worcestershire and ground mustard like some other reviews suggested. Left out sugar.
Came out great and the kids really liked it too. Will make again!

Turned out good I punched up the flavor. Seemed a little bland at the start for my liking
. Will make it again.

This dish turned out great. I did have to add some additional seasoning for my taste but this is definitely better than the manufactures hamburger helper. It's also inexpensive considering I had most of the ingridents in my cabinet with exceptions to the ground beef and pasta noodles.

As everyone has said - needs some serious help with the flavor profile. This is amazingly bland. We did a family experiment - add your own flavor. Recipe was followed exactly except split the cheese - 1/2 shredded cheddar, colby jack and 1/2 velveeta. Two winners were adding Tostitos queso cheese and adding Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning. Both added too much salt to the profile but added much needed flavor. Trick might be modifying the beef browning process so there is depth to the dish. It is not bad and can be a lot of fun for those who like to tweak flavors. It is truly a blank canvass.

It's a good start just needs more seasoning,it was bland. Next time I'll make a few changes.
