    After I served my mother some of this to have with steak she insisted I make it for our family Christmas dinner as a lighter alternative to mashed potatoes. I substituted Basil for Rosemary since I have a Basil plant that could provide fresh herb. I made a double batch and it was popular at Christmas Dinner. To use up the last of the Pumpkin Puree (3 cup can - 746 ml) I made a single batch using sweet potato instead of potato which I used to top a fish pie. That also worked well
