I haven’t baked bread in over 30 years, and never was good at it. This bread turned out beautifully the first time. The only thing that I thought was lacking was maybe a little more sweetness but I don’t really know that much about challah. Mine did over-brown to being close to burned on the bottom to get the color that is in the pictures. I would maybe take it out a few minutes sooner next time. Thank you great recipe.

This bread wouldn’t rise. I made it a second time thinking something was wrong with my yeast or maybe I had the liquids too hot. It rose a little during baking but nothing like the picture. The flavor was ok but it was dense and chewy. I will not be making it again.

Perfect! The only thing I would say is that mine took half the time to bake, but I also only baked one of the two loaves

Flavour was spot on (Yummy!) but texture is a little off. Bread turned out a little crumbly with a very dark crust. I live at a high altitude and usually I have to bake longer at a higher temp. I baked this at the suggested temp and for only 35 minutes instead of 40.
