At long last! A salmon recipe that is loved by both of us! This is terrific! Easy, delicious. I didn't need as much of the sugar/salt mixture. I found that since the salmon I get is skinless it's better to start out browning the top first.

Amazing... I didn’t use nearly as much salt as suggested due to the other reviews and it came out perfect! Definitely recommend.

It was really good. Salmon very moist except next time I will decrease the salt just a little.
Worthy to serve to guest. My family loved it!

Excellent and easy! What more can you ask for when making dinner? I did cut the sugar to 1/3 cup and the salt to 1 tablespoon. Left pepper as suggested.
Cooked in a black iron skillet in avocado oil (I was out of olive oil).

I've cooked this a few times and it's pretty awesome - even when I had the pan too hot, the crispy caramelised taste was still great. An earlier comment mentioned you could halve the amount of sugar and I definitely agree - you just need enough to give a good covering and maybe to sprinkle more on as you go.

Always perfect! Make sure not to tinker too much, recipe is pretty perfect the way it is. Don't skimp out on the quality of the fish!

The cook time on the pan given by directions will render the salmon a charred hockey puck. Since thickness of the fillets varies along with stove temps, so just eyeball it.
Could get away with less of the seasoning, a 1/2 cup of sugar with salt and pepper mixed in just means you throw out a bunch of sugar. Think I'll probably cut the seasonings in half next time.
Otherwise, great simple recipe to get a good crispy, sweet salmon.
