  • 1/2 cup sugar (¾ cup for a tart apple like Granny Smith)
  • chocolate
  • 4 oz. semi sweet chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (cinnamon, or fresh nutmeg, optional)
