Very lightly flavored recipe; good starter base. I may substitute one 8oz can of clam chowder for 1 cup of the milk and may add a pinch of Old Bay (tiny increments with frequent tastings) just to bring more depth. Alternately, if the 1 can of chowder is "just ok" I may add 2 cans --- leaving just 2 cups of milk.

I used creole seasoning and 2 Tbs of minced garlic when sauteing the mushrooms. It turned out fantastic!

Cut recipe in half. Didn’t measure fish, went by eye. Used 1 pan for mushrooms & then sauce to get pan drippings. Added minced garlic to mushrooms when sautéing. Added 1/2 cup peas when added mushrooms over noodles. Mixed old bay seasoning into fish before added. When making sauce, used old bay seasoning again instead of salt. Topped with ritz crackers with melted butter on top before broiling. Not a lot, 2 tbsp. butter with 1/3 sleeve of crackers, as someone else suggested. Delicious. This is a keeper.

I was surprised how good it was. Next time I will add buttered bread crumbs to top it off when broiling for additional texture..
