These yams are delicious. Added pecans and marshmellows at the end. Wonderful. So nice to have an alternative to fighting for oven time.

Loved this recipe! I'm making my yams like this from now on! Just a tip....I washed, peeled, cut (medium block size) and steamed my yams for 7 mintues before I put them in the crock pot. I cooked them on high for 2 hours and switched to low for another 2 hours. I kept them in all their juices and did not do the cornstarch step. delicious!
