I added Italian seasoning, fresh basil and diced zucchini; I sautéed all fresh ingredients. Additionally, I substituted the tomato sauce for a can of diced tomatoes, tomato paste and a teaspoon of sugar to balance the acidity. This is a great basic recipe making additions easy

Great.
Modify with one teaspoon of sugar to remove the can taste and pinch of hot pepper.

So wonderful on a cold snowy day! I added leek and parsley to give it more flavor dimension, and instead of just tomato sauce, i did half the sauce and the other half tomato paste to thicken it some and tasted so great!

I add mixed vegetable and leftover rotisserie chicken. I used tomato paste and tomatoes instead of tomato sauce. I then add jalapeño paste after serving.
