- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2/3 cup shortening (cold)
- 2 Tbsp. butter (melted, for after baking)
- 1 lb. butter (softened, I use Plugrá Butter)
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups almond paste (this is about two 8-ounce cans)
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 dash salt
- 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds (divided)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- 1/8 tsp. almond extract

The recipe is not very clear in some parts and overall doesn't seem very thought out. It seems more like a blog post about her life, unrelated to the buns, and the recipe was added on as an after thought. Like it says to preheat oven for the baking but then you need proof for 2 hours?? I was a little disappointed. The end result was good, but I'm not sure if it was because of the recipe or because I used common sense and didn't follow it word for word.
