- 2 boxes instant pudding mix (1 oz each butterscotch, if you don't want to use the sugar free/fat free pudding mix, the small box you can substitute with the 3.4-3.9 oz box. If you're using the larger sized box, use only ONE box)
- 2 cups milk
- 8 oz. cool whip (thawed)
- 1/4 cup sauce (butterscotch sundae)
- 1/2 cup butterscotch chips

i could only find sugar free instant pudding, and I'm glad i used it. I couldn't find butterscotch chips that didn't say "may contain peanuts". i have a peanut allergy. Instead i used heath toffee bits and it was soooo good. I almost feel if i used the chips it would have been too much butterscotch, which i love. Its definitely sweet but i really liked it. i will make it again

I love this pie recipe especially because it’s not too rich and too sweet. It’s perfect the way it is. If I don’t have the butterscotch sauce on hand (that goes on top), I have even skipped that in the past and no big deal.
