I did not have the KitchenAid attachment so I sliced the squash with a knife. It was around 1/4'' thick so I blanched in boiling water for about 2 minutes. before layering the lasagna. I also had about double the meat and sauce than what the recipe called for so I doubled the ricotta mixture as well and just made more layers. It worked out well and was a delicious meal!
