- 18 Tbsp. flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. canela
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 4 Tbsp. butter (half a stick)
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 8x8 baking dish.
- Mix the dry ingredients together. Cut in butter. Reserve 1/2 C mixture in another bowl and add nuts.
- Beat together wet ingredients and add to remaining dry ingredients. Pour into pan and sprinkle top with reserved crumbs.
- Bake 35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
